The city was strapped with an unbuildable site and the developer saw an opportunity for a truly unique coastal community. Sitting on a narrow bluff with a deep ravine and little creek bisecting the property, the challenge was to site clusters of attached townhome units to fit the narrow, irregular shaped ridge taking best advantage of coastal and inland creek views. Access, parking and unit privacy had to be accommodated along with some design standardization for economy of multiple units for the phased development.

The solution grouped 2 and 3 units with offset plan layouts to maximize window opportunities and adjust for saving trees and capturing ideal views. The design theme was to bring the Cascade Mountains to the coast with bold simple forms and rustic heavy timber elements combined with abundant natural light. Interiors were customized for owners desires and the result is one-of-a-kind.
